The main objective behind this post is to install Windows 7 or Windows Vista through a bootable USB.
This procedure works efficiently for Windows 7 & Vista.
Requirements :
1: Minimum 4 GB pendrive
2:Windows 7 or Vista Installation Files.
Following are the Steps for creating a Bootable Windows 7 or Vista USB drive through which you can install your Windows 7 or Vista very easily and effectively.
1.Plugin your USB in USB port and copy all its content to safe location.
2.Format USB using NTFS File System.
3.Open Command Prompt using 'admin' rights.
or
Go To Start => All Programs => Accessories => Right Click On Command Prompt => Run as Administrator.
or
Go To Run => Type cmd => Hit CNRTL+ SHIFT +ENTER
* For creating bootable USB you must have admin rights.
4. First type DISKPART and hit Enter.
* The commands are not case sensitive .It can be DISKPART or diskpart .
5.Now type LIST DISK.
* This gives all the disk at a particular instance. Select the number of the USB disk.
For Eg.
DISKPART> LIST DISK
Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
-------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---
Disk 0 Online 298 GB 0 B
Disk 2 Online 7632 MB 7631 MB
Disk 3 Online 698 GB 0 B
*Your Disk may can take any number 1,2,or 3. Here my Disk no is 2.Hence forth I shall use Disk 2 as my Disk no.You must use your Disk Number.So confirm your Disk Number from List.
6.Now type SELECT DISK 2 to select the Disk.
7.Type CLEAN for cleaning up Disk Contents.
8.After Cleaning of the Disk partition must be Created by typing CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY.
9.Type SELECT PARTITION 1 for selection of Created Partition.
10.Now type ACTIVE
11. Type FORMAT FS=NTFS
12.ASSIGN
13.EXIT
* Don't close the prompt just minimize it.
14. Now insert the Windows 7 or Vista DVD in ROM check the Drive name.
* ISO Image file also works efficiently .
15. Now Open prompt and type the following Commands
G: CD BOOT.
*Here my Drive Name is G:
16.CD BOOT
17.BOOTSECT.EXE /NT60 H:
* Where H is your USB Drive
18.Now Copy the Contents of the DVD to USB /pen drive.
19. Your USB is converted to Bootable USB.Now you can use it for installing Windows 7 or Vista.
*If the procedure doesn't work change the Boot priority setting to USB from BIOS during start up.
